"Now it is official. The EU thinks solar power over the past couple of years have been way too cheap.
EU will slap an average duty of 46% on imports from China, both panels and their main components, solar cells and silicon wafers.
In th...e past, when people said green subsidies were creating jobs the answer was "sure, in China". However, in Europe we had to raise taxes to pay for the subsidies, which meant more job losses in all other sectors in the EU.
Now, some of the green jobs will go back to Europe. But we also likely have to pay 46% more for them, which means higher green taxes and we'll lose even more jobs elsewhere. Congratulations.
