Labour falls back on the tired old line about the PM being pushed into a referendum by (boo! hiss!) ‘The Tory Right’. But who are these extremists who want a referendum on leaving the EU? Depending on which opinion poll we believe, they are anywhere between 62 per cent and 84 per cent of the country. In dismissing ‘The Eurosceptics’, Labour dismisses the electorate as a whole.
